The Bundesland that occupies the Southwestern corner of Germany, limited by the Rhine, the Lake Constance, Bavaria and Hesse, was born in 1952 as a result of the merging of the Grand Duchy of Baden with the Kingdom of Württemberg, to which it was added the Principality of Hohenzollern (a small Prussian exclave between the two of them).
Landlocked and 100 % Middle European, this Land is not only one of the flagships of the German economy, but also concentrates an incredible wealth of tourist attractions, which count among the highlights of any trip to Central Europe.
One does not have to drive a lot from the idyllic landscapes of the Black Forest to enjoy the jovial atmosphere of famous University cities like Freeburg, Tübingen or Heidelberg. The decadent flair of Baden-Baden is just a short ride away from the uncountable charming towns of the Swabian hills. Other remarkable places are also close by in this small portion of Europe, like the Northern shore (plus the city of Constance) of the homonymous lake, the source of the Danube, the picturesque vineyard area of the Kayserstuhl and, even, the highest tower of the Christianity.
