Anchorage is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited. Since it's so close to see level, the mountains seem to tower over it and can be seen from pretty much anywhere in the city. Where there aren't hills, there's water. Besides this, Anchorage has got a lot going for it as a city. It may lack the excitement and bustle of New York and Chicago, but it's got enough to warrant a trip even without its gorgeous environs.
