When you go to Alaska, you learn pretty quickly to rethink your sense of geography as this one state is larger than most countries! Most of the state (including the capital) is inaccessible except via air, and when driving is an option it's not necessarily the best one. There is more physical diversity here than in most countries, and its citizens are very aware that their state posesses a lot of natural beauty. Although the locals are generally friendly, the I'm-better-than-you attitude is very pervasive up here! |
