My very first time visiting Phuket was about 15 years ago flying from Hatyai to Phuket to visit Phanga Bay. It was crazy, we got on a tuk-tuk and the driver thought he was a formula one driver racing up and down the hill to Patong. Another incident was when we took the hotel key, another tuk tuk came chasing us to collect back the key. Lots has change since I first visited there 15 years ago.

It was more than 12 years until the next time I visited Phuket and from then has been there almost yearly. I would say Phuket has became so commercialize in the past few years, stayed at a couple of places like in Patong, Phuket Town but I still prefer the guesthouses in Kata, very much quieter and cheaper as well.

Phuket will always be my travel itinenary whenever I am in Thailand.

It was a totally unplanned trip to Phuket this trip as it is actually my first trip driving into Thailand and the destination was Trang. When I got into Hatyai, met up with my girlfriend and her dad suggested Suratthani instead as there is nothing much in Trang then I told her dad Suratthani was too far away. Next morning, something just triggered me to drive to Phuket instead and off I went. It was really a nice drive and it was alsomy first time driving long distance in Thailand. Patong is back to normal along thanon Bangla so no worries man, go and have some fun...!!!!
