Getting TO/AROUND: Perry really isn't close to anything, but that doesn't mean you can't easily get there. If you have a private plane, there is a small landing field with more than one runway called Perry-Warsaw Airport which serves Wyoming County. Perry is also located about an equal distance between both Buffalo (BUF) and Rochester (ROC) airports, so you can make your choice based on which location has the cheapest airfare; sometimes it's one, then the other. There is also Amtrak service into both cities, but it doesn't seem to be that frequent. I'm told that the nearest Greyhound station is in the neighboring town of Mt. Morris, but it's usually better just to get off at Rochester rather than try to make a connection to get closer to Perry.
You really need a car in this spread-out rural area. In the wintertime, don't be surprised if a snowmobile should pull into the parking space next to you -- this actually happened to me at a supermarket!
