Thanks VT for rating this page Top 5!! | Roger Conant, Founder of Salem |
When I lived in New Jersey, I visited Salem 7 times between 1991 and 1993. Finally, I decided enough was enough and I relocated to Massachusetts from 1994-2003. I actually lived about a half-hour away in Gloucester, but I dropped by Salem all the time. I became employed in the local tourism industry while living in the area, so I thought I'd take a minute to share some firsthand information with you!
The pictures I took from my days as a tourist were related to genealogical research. My colonial ancestors first settled in Salem in the year 1635, and I'm actually related by marriage to the man you see in the picture above, Roger Conant!
Don't miss my travelogue about one of the unusual old houses in Salem. Its occupant posted a comment below in response!
Thanks again for your enthusiastic response to this page!
(Update: In November 2005, I moved back to Massachusetts and currently reside in Beverly, the city next to Salem -- I now drive through Salem on a daily basis -- yay!) |
