Thanks VT for rating this page Top 5!! I lived in Rockport for 3-1/2 delightful years between 1995 and 1998, when I moved to the neighboring city of Gloucester. My favorite thing about Rockport are the twin lighthouses on Thacher Island. I could see them easily enough from the Back Shore of Gloucester, but sometimes I would make a special trip to Rockport just to see them up close!
One of the best things about Rockport is the blend of old and new. Despite Rockport's quaint exterior, inside the charming old homes of the townspeople you'll typically find the latest high-tech equipment. The locals enjoy posting and chatting online at several message boards and mailing lists about town affairs.
