We have cousins in Garden Grove, so imagine our surprise when US Airways posted an unbelievable "snooze-you-lose" fare of only $93 (plus tax per person) ROUND-TRIP from Newark, NJ to Orange County, CA! We immediately took advantage of this offer and zoomed out for a weekend with our family.
We were exhausted from our trip, but we managed to cram a LOT into our 50 short hours in California. We dutifully marched ourselves up to Anaheim for Disneyland photo-ops, shopped till we dropped at the Mainplace Mall in Santa Ana, and even managed to spend two evenings at a mindblowing Native American Pow-Wow at Santa Ana College. I kept thinking about that old vaudeville joke, "I just flew in from the coast, and boy are my arms tired!" Who cares, though, because it was totally worth it and if that magical price should ever come online in the future, we'd go back to visit Garden Grove again in a heartbeat! |
