Isola di Ponza - Isola di Ponza

Ponza is a plucky little island in the Mediterranean west of Naples.

I loved Ponza.

We were there in late September when the rest of Italy - Pisa, Capri, even Lipari - was so jammed with tourists that I was thought I had fallen into a previously undocumented circle of Dante's Inferno.

Ponza was so quiet that when we encountered a resident, he or she wished us buon giorno.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Not yet trashed by mass tourism
Cons:None that I could see
In a nutshell:The Mediterranean without the crowds
