For as long as I can recall Louisiana has been a place of the utmost personal fascination. Ever since I became informed that the Acadians were expelled from Nova Scotia by the British in 1755, I dreamt of meeting & talking to an Acadian, or Cajun, hoping to learn a little bit about his or her family’s history. Growing up in a poor family in Massachusetts, travel to Louisiana was not feasible. However, now that I am a citizen of the city of Houston, Texas, this dream is only an hour or so away. Now hardest part of making this dream come true will be waiting until I am able to find employment, so I can properly fund this adventure. As for now, I have to settle for the few sites I am able to see while traveling through Louisiana east on I-10.
