Shanghai, China

The Bund, Shanghai, China
Shanghai is amazing, I'm so glad I decided to come here!!! It is similar to Hong Kong in size and energy, but it's different. Hard to explain how, but it has a very different feel to it! Street food is great here, within an hour of arriving I had already eaten an ice cream cone, a bowl of delicious noodles (reminds me of Batambang's favorite noodles, Manoj!) and a bubble tea (milk tea with little tapioca balls in the bottom of the cup), which all-together cost less than $1! Yea!! Street food is the best! My first night I stayed at a hotel off of the Bund, which is the waterfront of Shanghai and has lots of great old European style buildings.
The Bund, Shanghai, China
I walked along the Bund taking pictures and then met up with Lily, Amy's sister. Amy is one of my very best friends in Seattle, it's so cool to meet her friends and family here in China! What a rich opportunity! We met up at Xin Tiandi, which is an area full of bars and swanky jazz clubs and galleries.. it really could have been an area located in any American city! I was thoroughly amazed at how similar it is to an American hangout area.
Nanjing Lu at night, Shanghai, China
This is Nanjing Lu, a main thoroughfare for Shanghai. No cars are allowed here though; it's for pedestrians only! It's set up for the maximum amount of foot traffic possible and it's loaded with advertisement. If you start at the Bund and walk the length of the street, you'll see something like 11 McDonald's and 8 KFC's! One on practically every block. Nanjing Lu is definately the place to go for ANY kind of shopping or fast food cravings!

Pros:"Fun, bustling, interesting city."

In A Nutshell:"Do not pass up the opportunity to visit Shanghai!"
