    • Favorite Thing: This little principality is probably best for those looking for scenic beauty. To be certain, Liechtenstein, by itself, offers no more than two or three days of interest, but it is also a good base for exploring eastern Switzerland or western Austria, as well as for skiing. That said, in a country that is only 62 square miles in area, that's not bad.

    Among the places worth a look - though this is not all - are the capital city of Vaduz, with the Prince's Castle, the Rauthaus (Parliament), the Catholic Church, the Prince's Art Collection, and the Liechtenstein Stamp Museum. (Also, the tourist office will stamp your passport.) To the south is the town of Balzers, with a small pretty castle. In the mountains, the ski town of Malbun is worth a visit, and in summer is a great place to start a hike.
