The town of Brescia is situated in the region of Lombardy, in fact, it lies on the border in between Lombardy and Veneto. According to whispers, it was founded by the Ligurians, historiant point says to Gaulish Celts. One thing is for sure, by the 3C BC the city had come under Roman influence, and there are still traces of the crisscross Roman street plan in the old core of the town. |
| | Torre della Pallata The city was a member of the Lombard League, but in 1258 it was captured by the tyrant Ezzelino. Later on it was contested by the Visconti, the Veronese Scaligeri and Malatesta. From 1426 it prospered under Venetian rule. The whole town was severely damaged in the Second World War. |
