Cortina d'Ampezzo Off The Beaten Path

Off The Beaten Path: Valle di Cadore
  • Tip Rating:
  • The vast area of Cadore is situated in Dolomites, from the Marmarole to the Pelmo to the Cridola. It is rich with nature , culture and art. The capital of Cadore is Pieve di Cadore whwre in 1477 the great maestro of Renaissance, Tiziano Vecellio was born and you can still visit the house.
In the area of Oltrepiave there is Vigo di Cadore, with its old chapel of Sant'Orsola. In the close surroundings there is Lorenzago di Cadore, for many years the holiday destination of Pope John Paul II.

Off The Beaten Path: Tai di Cadore
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tai di Cadore is a very net place situated on the road between Belluno and Cortina. Here you can see a number of characteristic wooden houses with large verandas all turned into the direction of south.
There must be a grat feeling sitting on those verandas on a bright sunny day and enjoying in the magnificient view of the nearby valley.

Off The Beaten Path: Tai di Cadore
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tai di Cadore is the home of glasses manufacture. Here you can also visit the Eyeglass Museum, one of the only ones in the world. The museum comprises over 2000 pairs of spectacles dating from the Middle Ages to the present day, reconstructs the fascinating history of what was originally a simple trade, but has developed to a highly profitable business whose products are renowned all over the world.

Off The Beaten Path: San Vito di Cadore
  • Tip Rating:
  • San Vito di Cadore is situated in the middle of a marvellous valley, only the kilomtres fro Cortina d'Ampezzo. This little village offers many ways of spending a varied and interesting holiday. On walks and excursionsyou can reach the most famous Dolomitic peaks.
There are deep woods that surround the village where you can spend your time immersed in nature's peace.

Off The Beaten Path: La Villa (Alta Badia)
  • Tip Rating:
  • La Villa is one of the best ski-resorts in the Alta Badia region, which is situated north of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The nature in the surroundings of the place is just beautiful. I would like to revisit this place in the early autumn because it must be of stunning beauty coloured by the rich autumn colours.
There are marked walking paths all around the place and you can immersed here in endless peace of the nature.
