Showing up

Luxury yacht owners enjoying in showing up, landing and taking off from the port looks alike ceremony for them. They staring at the public on land in order to check wheter people is observing their boat, while people staring back hoping to see some celebrities on the deck. In my opinion, both sides are wasting time in vain.

Busy harbor

Portofino harbor is rather small, less then 100m side-to-side, and mostly filled by the domestic small boats. There isn't much of space for random boat visitors and I doubt such visitors could even enter inside of the harbor. There is quay strictly reserved for the boats which bringing tourists to Portofino and around it is always traffic jam which causing small local boats moving in or out of a harbor. There are two spots reserved for the bigger yacht-boats and thats it. I wonder how it is inside of harbour in case of sudden storm at sea?

Galleries&souvenirs

I was expecting to see much more then only few galleries in Portofino and those three or four which I saw around aren't worth of mentioning. But there must be a reason for it, probably because rich people buy paintings elswhere, while day trip visitors aren't much interesting in spending more then needing. There are few souvenirs shops in Portofino but free of potential clients.

They do laundry even in Portofino

I was almost sure that in place alike Portofino is wont see any window or balcony "adorned" by laundry, but was wrong. At the same time I was glad because it proving that ordinary people live here too. Though, laundry was hanged very discretly and in perfect order.
