Hammamet

by croisbeauty - last update: Dec 22, 2004

Hanibal ante portas

Yasmine Hammamet
Hammamet is probably the best known touristic sight of Tunisia, but it didn't impressed me at all. Jasmine Hammamet is completely new-bild city with plenty of shops and huge amusement park where this monumental elephants, a part of Hanibal's army, stands right in fromt of the main entrance.
Hammamet

The fortress of Hammamet

The small fortress of Hammamet is situated on the sea-shore, offering magnificent view to the old core of the town and huge bay in front of it. This is where the Medina (souk) of Hammamet is situated, which is crowded all day and night long.
Doors

The door

The doors of Hammamet, as well as in the rest of Tunisia, are very pitoresque and unusual. You wont find two doors with identical decorations, but most of it are coloured in light blu color of the sky.

I visited Hammamet yasmine, I loved the holiday and I think there is lots going for it. In tunisia the ladies have a choice of what they wear, there are no strict guidelines for this country as it is very open compared to to other arabic countries.

is it ok for tourists to wear swimming costumes in the water or is this frowned upon and offensive

Why would you take a photo of someone who does not agree for you to take a photo of them? It is incredibly rude.
