Since I am representating one Italian companuy from Varese, I am visiting it a couple of times during the year.
Varese is a small town in the northern part of Italy, very close to Switzerland border. The town is surrounded with couple of small lakes and the mountains in the northern part. The most attractive spot to see is the sanctuary of Sacro Monte which is situated up on the hill, just a few km from the town centre, and it is a must see.
The people here are hard working and coz of that you cannot see much of the moveing during the week. In fact, most of the house lights are turnd off after 9 oclock in the evening. There are a cuople of good restaurants in Gavirate, which is located on the nearby Lake of Varese.

Sacro Monte

The Sanctuary at Sacro Monte, which is situated on the top of the hill above Varese, is a must see. This little but very pitoresque village looks a kinnda of mysterious. From the top of the hill there is magnificent view at the town of Varese and nearby lake.

My last trip to Varese was on March 10th and 11th, 2004. As you can see on this picture, which was taken in front of the hotel "Palace", the town was covered by the snow.

What you call "The small church" is the baptistry you mentioned before and it is indeed the oldest religious building in Varese

Iako tvrdite da je u Centro storico all what is worth to see meni se zanimljivijom cini Santa Maria del Monte. Stranica je OK, iako bih lagao kad' bih rekao da odmah trcim u Varese.... (mozda da ste ukljucili predgradja? lol)
