Baths of Antonius Pius

A day trip to Carthage was rather disapointing to me because, thanks to my guide, I haven't seen all historic sights, in particularly Hadrian's theatre, National Museun of Carthage and Byrsa Hill. In order to see as much as possible, I suggest you to avoid touristis guides!

Roman Villas

Roman Villas is an evocative hillside of high Roman house-walls, cisterns, columns and capitals, steep well-paved streets and the Antiquarium.

Capitals at Antonius Baths

There are number of well preserved capitals in the area of the Baths of Antonius Pius. Most of the capitals are built in the characteristc Corinthian style

Nice page with great photos! You saw things at the Antonine Baths that I somehow missed--I'd like to return there some day.

You still saw quite a lot! I think the Baths of Antonius were my favourite.

Despite the destruction of the city by the Romans at the end of thr 3rd Punic War, there are still some nice remains to be seen. Great page Boris.

Amazing, those Romans. Maybe not globalization, but definitely mediterraneanization. Great photos and presentation. (A u svezi glede onih "urna" - meni to vise slici na balote / boce ;)

Excellent page with detailed historical data on a must see location. In spite of its major historical interest, Carthage is not the ancient city that impressed me the most in the Maghreb !
