Shanini or Chenini

One may be confused by the names of the places in Tunisia, once it is Shanini then Chenini or Chenini de Tatahouine, anyway this is all the same destination situated deeply in the mountain region of South Tunisia.
Actually, Chenini is old abandoned Berber's village situated on the top of the hill which remainds alot to the landscapes of Utah/USA. In fact, when entering in this area my first impression was, gosh I saw it already in the John Ford's movies. Besides the landscape, some of the houses look to me like those of Apache people.

lovely photos, i enjoyed driving around the area - but the car was comparable with Europe prices - got a good deal.yes place spellings is difficult - took a long time to find some moroccan place names too despite knowing them full well!

The use by VT destination database of English names that nobody knows locally is very confusing : Shanini/Chenini is an example but what of Qasr Awlad Debbab instead of Ksar Ouled Debbab ! Tell me when your page is built !
