| The Church at main sqaure in Krakow at night |
Krakow is one of the biggest cities of Poland but not The Biggest city in Poland. but interestingly you may call it the Cultural Capital of Poland. There are many educational institutes here from where people learn not only Art and Sciences but also Music and Theatre. There are approxiamately 150,000 students living in Krakow ! because of which all the discoes, good or bad, are nearly full on the weekends and partially full in the weekdays ! On the weekends at night, you'll find streets full of young people, avg age. 25 yrs ! and hardly any oldie goldie ! It's in my point of view the best city in Eastern europe to enjoy night life. In general Polish people are very friendly, helpful and hospitable. Many people speak English, either a little or to its perfection. I would recommend to chit chat here n there before going to Poland and if you'll know a few Polish then it means that you don't need any travel guide either as a book or as a person ;-)

| Saturday Market in Krakow ! |
| | Art & Culture Krakow has got handful of historical buildings from its golden era. The best and most impressive of all is the Wawel Castle. If you have been to Krakow and not visit this stunning Castle then u have seen nothing ! I may say that its one of the most beautiful castle in Europe due to its location and artistic architecture.
There are usually Music concerts and Theatre performances in Krakow. For that please check from the nearest Tourist information office and they will tell u in detail about the cultural activities. Most of these concerts held in Summer at the main market square, which is its self worth visiting.
There are many Churches and most impressive of all is the one in Wawel Castle, other than that there is one famous churche where hte famous Polish poet Milosz's ashes were brought. You should not miss that too !

| Economy Its ideal for backpackers. A packet of Chips and Juice cost 1 Euro in Polish Zloty !!!
There are many good and bad youth hostels so u can easily go to Krakow without booking and find a bed suitable to you in the location u would like to have. I would recommend that the closer u r to the market square, the better u r !
In my three days trip, i had some luxury and some comfort so i ended up spending 146 Swiss Francs. It includes the trains from Zürich to Bergamo in Italy, from where i flew to Katowice and also the bus from Katowice to Krakow (100 PLN return)
So u should not worry about how to survive there but u should worry about the cost of the air ticket to get there !
So, find a cheap fare and spend a thrilling weekend in Krakow !
Bon voyage ! Umer.
