The Most Mysterious City I've seen Welcome to The 2nd Best Page of Uppsala (mashAllah) here on VT. I hope I've provided enough useful Info so that you can easily plan your trip to Uppsala.
Thursday, 31st October 2002
It was a nice sunny day after yesterday's rainy day in STOCKHOLM. So, i decided to go out somewhere. I went to the city center from my uncle's house, which is around 30 mins by local train. After reaching the city center i went to the tourist information center and they recommended me to go to the '&b&uTown of UPPSALA.&b&u' They also gave me a nice booklet having all the interesting details about 'must see places' of Uppsala and it really motivated me to go there.
So i went to the railway station and thanks to Allah that I didn't have to take a Que-Number and stand in the que for tickets because for UPPSALA there is a Special last counter on Stockholm Main Railway Station, which is decidicated counter for 'Uppsala Express Train'. I asked for the Student Fare Ticket and it cost me 120 Swedish Kronor (Approx. 13 US Dollars). The first train leaving for Uppsala was just after 10 mins so i rushed to the platform and after taking a few pictures of the train i got myself comfortable on those soft and nice seats of X2000 swedish train.
It didn't took long and we were in Stockholm's outskirts. As soon as the train was out of the city, i think the driver had gone MAD :-> I never expected that the Swedish Trains to be sooooooo lightening fast !!! After 45 mins the train arrived in Uppsala. Unfortunatley, as i came out of the train i was so sad to see that it was raining heavily (just opposite of what the weather was there in Stockholm. Ahhhh (Sigh ! ) I knew that i can't do anything and it is of no use to just go to a café and wait for the rain to stop... So, i decided to explore Uppsala in Rain :->
So, let's see what did i do there on a rainy day, and how i managed to see all those interesting places in Uppsala.
Thank You & Best Wishes,
Muhammad Umer Durrani-
