"Usinsk (New)" Usinsk by expressmale

Usinsk - new town - was created in 1975 by oil companies for their employees and their families. Usinsk is situated in the northern part of the Komi Republic about an hours drive north to the Arctic Circle. It makes an ideal base for oil workers.
Like many other towns Usinsk accomodates its population in apartment blocks, but here there is more a feeling of space, there are tree lined roads with wide pedestrian walkways. The roads are clean and in good condition.

• Pros:Ideal base if you work in the nearby oil industry
• Cons:Not much here for tourists
