Ko Samui

by steve28 - last update: Jun 14, 2006

Ko Samui

This little island with its warm sea crystal clear sea and white sand beaches is will worth a visit. Dependiging on the type of holiday you want Quiet or busy Samui has it all. Its people are so genuinely warm and a pleasure to be around

There isnt a lot to do on the isand but jeep hire is very cheap so it is worth it for a day to do a little exploring if nothing else, but bewarethe locals drive with there own set of rules. If its fun you want head for Chewing beach and you want be disappointed. The accommodation ranges from 5 star luxury to backpackers huts on the beach
Songkran

Koh Samui pt 2

Yes its true we enjoyed Koh Samui that much that we had to do it again
Our holiday was over the Thai "New Year" "Songkran" a not to be missed experience where the fun people of Thailand let their hair down with WATER and lots of it. The whole experience can last from 1 day to 5 days. The water is a great relief from the very hot daytime temperatures 39 degrees.
Once again we stayed at the Baan Samui on Chaweng Beach a brilliant location for the fun loving with so many places to eat and shop at.

Chaweng Beach

The beach on Chaweng varies from end to end and believe it or believe it not just because you are in on of the posh hotels on the beach front you maynot have the best part of the beach. The area arounf the Baan Samui probably has some of the best frontage. The beach has lots of hawkers selling their wares be it food or clothing or artifax they are not persistand and a polite no means that they will move on. On the beach also are lots of dogs they may be wild but they all have very good natures
