"CALIFORNIA" California by IceBear7

Here we go, just two months after my trip, and my pages are more or less finished, although I might add some more tips over the next weeks and months.

I had a great 2 weeks trip in California in October 2004, shortly before the presidential elections. Not much going on in CA though, the state was in the safe hands of the democrats. I visited exciting cities I had always wanted to see, shopping was as exciting as trying out unknown fast-food-chains and locals restaurants and supermarkets, I experienced incredibly beautiful nature in Yosemite National Park, enjoyed driving on 10-lane-highways and cycling across Golden Gate Bridge, touched Mexico for a couple of hours - and made a list of the places I'm going to see the next time.

Day 1: Flight to Las Vegas via Charlotte/ North Carolina

Day 2: morning in Las Vegas, then transfer to Los Angeles by Greyhound

Day 3: getting the rental car and heading south to San Diego

Day 4 and 5: in San Diego with a day trip to Tijuana/ Mexico, then return northwards, overnight in Malibu

Day 6 and 7: trip along the coast on Highway 1 and 101 with overnights in San Luis Obispo and Monterey

Day 8 and 9: Yosemite National Park (2 nights)

Days 10 to 14: San Francisco
Day 15: Return home via Philadelphia/ Pennsylvania
