The Killeen Library is the place to visit if you are seeking information about the history of the Killeen district.
The staff will be happy to provide assistance in locating information about a specific subject. The Library also provides computers with word processing, and internet.
There is a one-hour time limit, and you can sign up at the reference desk, if all terminals are full.
I found them to be very helpful

The Mayborn Planetarium and Space Theater opened in 2003.. since then, over 35 thousand visitors have attended programs including Public Planetarium Shows, Laser Light Shows, Large Format Films, and K-12 School Programs.
The Planetarium Lobby features a glass-enclosed projection booth, allowing visitors to observe some of the inner workings of the special effects control systems.

The Bell County Museum runs various exhibitions throughout the year.. featuring rare photographs, artifacts, costumes, and other fields of interest.
This is a great place to visit if your interest lies in history, historical topics and different cultures.

Central Texas State Fair, held in Belton, around the Labor Day weekend each year.
This fair has been a Killeen-Belton annual event since 1987. The fair features rides, games, and a large variety of food.
Livestock shows and competitions, creative arts shows and competitions, military marching units from Fort Hood in nearby Killeen, concerts and shows, and professional bull riding.
If you are visiting during this time, you really should attend.. I had a fantastic time here.
Daily Fairground Admission....

Children 12 & under - $1.00
Monday, September 6 - Military Appreciation Day...
All Military admitted FREE with valid Military ID

Nature in Lights Includes more than 5 1/2 miles of displays. Stop at Santa’s Village for snacks, arts & crafts vendors, and pictures with Santa.
The Christmas Light display was an awesome sight. The many exibits were spectacular, and beautifully arranged around the Lake. This was a wonderful experience for me.. and I was very fortunate to be able to see this in late November, just before my return to Australia.

Another display that was definitely worth taking a photo of... though I must say that my camera did not do it justice. I should have had my digital camera at that time, for some really good shots.
