An Aussie Girl in Texas...

Killeen Fort Hood Regional Airport.
Killeen

The New Killeen - Fort Hood Regional Airport... Opened for business on the 2nd. August 2004.
Airline operations have moved from The Killeen Municipal Airport, to the new facility.

The Killeen-Ft.Hood Regional Airport is centrally located in the heart of Texas, and offers easy air access to Dallas / Fort Worth and Houston airports. Numerous four-lane highways also makes travel to and from Austin, San Antonio, and Waco relatively simple and worry-free. The Airport offers state of the art facilities, and a variety of services for the airline traveler and the General Aviation community.

Killeen-Ft. Hood Regional Airport is only an hour drive from Austin, and less than three hours from Dallas and San Antonio.
It is also within easy reach of the City Center, and Killeen Shopping areas.. and many other local attractions and places of interest.
On May 15, 1882, the city of Killeen was born. It is a town established by the Sante Fe Railroad and named for one of its officials, Frank P. Killeen.

Today, the Sante Fe Depot, abandoned several years ago when rail passenger services was discontinued in Killeen, houses the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce and sits just off the railroad right of way and directly behind restored buildings that house part of the municipal government.

Needs updating. Cactus Canyon has not been in business for a few year at least! Newer Clubs are Starlight Club-- which is a Country/Western Club.

Great pages about Killeen. It is nice to read such positive comments about my area. I live in Harker Heights. When you come back, be sure to visit Ki Ku Gardens - a Japanese/Korean Bar B Que Restaurant in Harker Heights.
