"Blue Hawaii"
Hawaii was once an independent kingdom. (1810 - 1893) The flag was designed at the request of King Kamehameha I. It has eight stripes of white, red and blue that represent the eight main islands. The flag of Great Britain is emblazoned in the upper left corner to honor Hawaii's friendship with the British. The combination of the stripes of the United States flag and the Union Jack of Great Britain is said to have pleased the merchant shippers of both nations. Flag adopted for official state use in 1959.

"Oahu"

Spending almost a month in Hawaii, I have seen so much of these beautiful Islands.
Arriving in Honolulu, I had three wonderful days to explore some of the touristy stuff, and Waikiki Beach was pretty high on my list. I walked everywhere, as I felt that this is still the best way to see it all, and see it well. I shopped, listened to the music that the locals were playing all around me, talked to people, held a large red parrot, that a passer-by handed to me, and breathed in the wonderful aroma of the plumerias.
I sat by the water, and watched people enjoying the magic of it all. It buzzed with excitement, yet it felt so safe, friendly, and not at all intimidating, as some big cities would.
And as a result of those first few days, I got to know Honolulu quite well.
Cona Coast
"Kailua Kona"

I don't know exactly what I expected to see when I first arrived in Kona, but I have to say that it wasn't what was unfolding in front of my eyes as we drove away from the airport. I guess I didn't expect to see all the black lava everywhere I looked. It was an incredible sight, no trees or palms, just black lava, all around. I was overcome with a strange feeling, and all I could think was, Wowww.... !

But all that changed very suddenly as we drove into the city. I couldn't believe the beauty of this place, as we drove up Alii Drive. It was an Awesome sight.
The gorgeous beaches, the swaying palms and flowering trees everywhere I looked. And no tall buildings to block the view of the hills.
Kona sure was one very pleasant surprise after another.

One thing I am certain of, I have come home, knowing the Hawaiian culture a little better, And I have learned the true meaning of 'Aloha'
And that there are so many wonderful people on this earth, and given time, we do eventually meet some of them.
I have found the 'True Spirit of Hawaii'. "Her People"

A very Special Thankyou to my Wonderful friends. You made my holiday the best that it could be, I have wonderful memories. ;-)

~*~ Me ke aloha pau ole a hui hou ~*~
~*~ With everlasting Love and Affection, until we meet again ~*~

Much Aloha, and Mahalo ;-)
