“Punta Cana” means “point of the palms” because of the abundance of palm trees in this area. Punta Cana is located on the easternmost tip of the island, and is known for its gorgeous turquoise beaches. Punta Cana is unique for a variety of reasons, both geographic and historical. It is located on the coast where the Atlantic and Caribbean Oceans meet.
