It was a great pleasure to visit Ukraine. I was invited by a net friend and I spend one month in Yalta, in a little pension and had the great opportunity to discover the marvels of Crimea region. Yalta was super duper.
You must not miss Checkov Museum, Nikistki garden,The Voronzov, Livadia and Massandra Palaces. Then the onforgettable Fairy Swallow's nest.
The beaches are stony but very sunny and the water always warm. The promenade in Yalta is teeming with activities and people, little souvenir shops
cafés and don't miss the night life.
There are so many parks... for romantic walks at night.
Restaurants are great but very expensive. Better go a little off the promenade.
I had problem with my OVIR. But all went well at the end.
Spots to see: Eski Kermen, Khan's Palace Uspenski monastery, Chufu-Kale, the Magic glades, Sudak and don't miss the Foros church built on a clift.
I loved travelling 3rd class on the train from Kiev to Simferopol. People were so friendly.
Tasting Tatar's food is a must especially their "Manty, Chebureky and shashlik.
I am writing my travel notes at the moment.
Take care. Crimea is beautiful... good food, good votka, friendly people, sunny beaches, lovely cruises, and remember that Black Sea is not Black!!!
