CACHAÇA PITU | Vincente and the bottle of Pitu |
Vincente, a friend of Catharina, took me to his city. Only 46 km from Recife, it is a lovely quiet little city. It reminded me a lot of my stay in India, with its streets and street chops, and street vendors. Of course I couldn't do otherwise than to stop at the Pitu distillery. Vitoria is the National Capital of Cachaça. It's a very strong liquor made out of sugar cane, ressembling to the Mexican Tequila. |

| | Vincente's family Vincente invited me for a great meal at his parent's house. It was a very hot day and a cold beer was very welcomed. I could not believe the amount of good food they served me. What a great hospitality. |
