Nightlife Spot: Ames Plow Tavern
Ames Plow's is a cozy litte pub, right in the middle of the Fanneuil Hall marketplace. Great casual atmosphere, pretty decent drinks & pub grub, and cozy decor. All in all, a nice place to unwind and have a good time...

Nightlife Spot: ManRay
ManRay Nightclub is the home of New England's underground scene, catering to a variety of alternative cultures. They are open Wednesday through Saturday. Each night is a different theme - Goth on Wed., Campus on Thu, Fantasy Fetish on Fri., and Liquid on Sat. Music depends on the night, check their website for particulars... If you go on Fri, keep in mind that it is a fetish night and that most people do dress up (or more often than not, down) for it. You also get a $5 discount off the cover charge if you're in appropriate attire for the night

Dress Code: Dress code is enforced, especially on Wed. and Fri. Wear black as last resort. Thu. & Sat. aren't quite as strict, so your typical club garb might do.

Nightlife Spot: Black Rose
Black Rose is a fairly typical Irish American pub. It's pretty good size, and is usually fairly full. There's a good size dinner area, as well as a well-stocked bar. I remember the food being good, but it's been years since I ate there, so I can't recommend anything specific. The beer, on the other hand, was very fresh as of a few days ago... They pour a very nice & proper pint of Guinness. The crowd varies, but tends to be groups & families. So it's probably not a great place to go to meet new people. But the atmosphere is still very lively & cozy. It is a great place to hang out with your friends, as we proved during the most recent VT meeting there. So if you and your friends are hanging out in Boston, do make it a point to stop by.
