Sydney

by dracko - last update: Dec 11, 2003

Sydney is a striking city. It was my first stop on my trip to Australia, and it was my last. It is large, it is busy, it is young, sometimes old, but always unique. There're endless things to see and experience there, great shopping, great nightlife. Even strolling the streets of it all day long is fun in and of itself.
The Rocks
You can lose yourself in the narrow streets and alleys in The Rocks. Shop till you drop at numerous malls all around. Grab lunch at one of endless cafes all around the city. And when the night comes, Sydney's got you covered with numerous bars, pubs, lounges, and clubs all over the city and its suburbs.

Sidneysiders themselves tend to be a pretty trendy bunch. Walking the streets during a weekday, with everyone dolled out in their best business suits and dresses I almost felt like a bum. Almost, because the city is still host to endless travelers from all over the world who are in the same boat as you are. Besides, most of the time you'll be too busy exploring to care what people think about you anyway. So no worries.
It is rare that anyone visiting Australia doesn't visit Sydney, but if you're even thinking of joining those ranks, abandon those wicked thoughts!! Sydney is definitely worth a visit, it is without a doubt one of the memorable cities you'll ever visit.

Pros:"Very diverse, lots to see, lots of character."
Cons:"A bit pricy. Sydneysiders aren't as laidback as Aussies in other parts of the country"
In A Nutshell:"Just go already! It'll be a city you won't soon forget."
