In the summer of 1997, my friends kidnapped (*wink, wink*) me and headed north for Amsterdam. I was excited because I was hoping to visit this town before leaving Europe. While the tulips were still two seasons away, my fingers were crossed that we would pass a field bursting with color. I never saw a field of flowers, but I passed a number of greenhouses, a few windmills and tranquil countryside. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the road pass while riding in the backseat of our rental on that trip. |
