I took a bus tour from Garmisch, Germany to Venice, Italy. The bus departed at 3am and we arrived at the car park in Venice at 11am (driving in Italy is madness, so I am glad that I decided on the bus). Our first order of business was to board a boat and tour the Grand Canale. Instead of trying to get a bunch of great pictures or turn my head frantically to look at everything, I lounged back and enjoyed the ride. To be easing down the Grand Canale on a beautiful day with a cool breeze against my face - I could want for nothing more. I watched the hotels and restaurants pass. I listened to our guide share some of the history of the buildings at which we were looking. I waved at the tourists standing on the Rialto Bridge. It seemed that the tour was over too soon and our tour guide was cutting us loose.
