This is a picture of a fountain on Park Avenue -- not far from where I live
That picture of me up to the right is with my crazy dog, Hooch. I got him from an animal rescue shelter. He is a complete wacko! He gets car sick so I have to "Hooch Proof" my ride anytime we go anywhere. I am keeping the makers of shower curtain liners in business! What can ya do - right?

I grew up in Orlando, Florida and lived for one year in Garmisch, Germany. I had a wonderful time discovering the nooks and crannies of my town and other parts of Europe. I am going to be spending the summer of 02 in Brazil. I'll keep everyone posted about that.

Florida has a lot of natural beauty to enjoy -- as does Orlando. I live in the southeast part of town, so I live close to the beach. I especially like Canaveral National Seashore in Titusville. There is a $5 per car access fee, but the beach is so clean that it is worth it. You never have to fight for your piece of beach.

People often miss the quieter spots on the outskirts of the city. Bok Tower Gardens is a botanical garden. I take a picnic, a good book and a blanket on which to lay. I spend the day in the cool shade of a large oak tree. I also sneak sunflower seeds in to feed the squirrels. The squirrels will eat out of your hand if you pour some seeds into your palm and lower your hand to the ground.

Orlando isn't the most pedestrian friendly city. It may become more so in the future, but it still has a journey.

I enjoy visiting the theme parks, but won't go near them in the summer. I'll visit the parks in October, November, January, February and May. They are waaaay too congested the other months of the year.

If you're willing to put in some drive time, there are beautiful locations to enjoy.
