Michigan City has spent the past few years cleaning itself up. I hadn't been here in a few years but noticed a remarkable difference; everything seemed cleaner and brighter. |
Still, the giant NIPSCO plant and cooling tower on the lakefront are ghastly, belching out tiny microfibers that do all kinds of terrible things to one's lungs. The nearby Long Beach section is loaded with as many overcrowded, gaudy beach homes and apartments as you'd find in any European coastal resort. Try to look straight ahead if you visit, the view is much prettier. |
