The Casanova train at Ljubljana station
The Casanova train from Ljubljana to Venice is a great service -- journey takes approx 4 hours -- the day I took it we arrived early.
Cost one-way approx 40 Euros.

Ljubljana train & bus stations
The train and bus stations are together on Trg Osvobodilne Fronte, approx 15 minutes walk north of the triple-bridge and river.
If you come out of the train station, there is a large kiosk opposite with a good money exchange.
Ljubljana is just a couple of hours or so by train from Zagreb and 4 hours from Venice
