The church was built on the spot where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated in March 1881.
It was built between 1883-1907.

I enjoy visiting this city....
This place is on my wish list. I hope i 'll get the chance to go here one day.
Thanks for bringing back some memories of this great city. I was there for three weeks on a language course as a student and remember being taken round a few museums every day. Would love to visit it again and see just the things I want.
