Tram

Trams are plentiful in Tallinn and easy to use, just buy a ticket from a kiosk and remember to cancel it in the machine onboard. If you arrive at the bus station (Autobussijaam) tram no: 4 takes you to the city centre

Train

Tallinn train station (Balti jaam) is just north-west of the old town on Toompuiestee -- to get to the old town, just cross the main road Rannamae Tee -- through the underpass -- then head up Nunne street -- 5 minutes and you're there.

In the station, international tickets are sold upstairs, windows marked 'rahvusvahelised kassad' , open 09-00 to 22-00.

Bus

I travelled by bus from Vilnius, Lithuania (12 hours).
Regular buses from Tallinn to Riga (6hrs), Tartu (2 1/2 hrs), St. Petersburg (8 hrs).

Tallinn bus station (autobussijaam) is about 10 minutes from the centre by tram no.4
