A mix of remote moorland, rolling countryside, quaint villages, ancient abbeys and castles, seaside resorts -- North Yorkshire has a lot to offer the holidaymaker or casual visitor. You really need a car and a good map to enable you to experience the moorlands, to be able to turn off the main roads and visit the picturesque little villages dotted all over this landscape -- North York Moors is a National Park but very much a working one, farmland abounds here and it's a delight to drive the winding roads and contrast the green pastures with the nearby moorland landscape. Whatever your interests I'm sure you'd find North Yorkshire an appealing destination. |

Agraichen Wed Sep 19, 2007 03:36 UTC York (proper) is one of my wife's favorite cities. She never tires of wandering the Shambles or going to the community theatre. | blint Wed May 30, 2007 13:32 UTC looking at your pages on Britain has made me realise just how beautiful it can be. Thank you (an ex-pat). | magor65 Tue Jan 23, 2007 08:42 UTC An excellent little page. You were lucky to have such great weather and blue skies in November. I can imagine how beautiful it is there with heather in bloom - it is the sight that made me speechless in Ireland. | Sjalen Sun Nov 12, 2006 12:51 UTC Keep up the good work! :) |
