The cobblestone street with the business heartbeat of Old Montreal is St. Paul Street. Lots and lots of shops (some very interesting art and cultural, and many souvenier places too,) restaurants and bakeries, a few hotels and B&B's and the magnificent Bonsecour Market.
In the summertime people flock here to enjoy drinks and food on the terraces of the restaurants and pubs. At night, throughout the year, the clubs attract a varied crowd away from the downtown scene.
This view is from Place Jacques Cartier, which intersects St. Paul at the busiest part of the area, looking east with the dome of Bonsecour Market looming over the street scene.
