I'm not a hard-core traveler in the sense that I do not go anywhere just because it is the popular place to go or because everyone says that one has to see it. On the other hand, I've seen much of the United States while on vacation to do some hiking and take some pictures. In addition, my work has given me some chance to travel, and I've collected some photos and stories from those travels as well. I enjoy sharing those stories and photos on my own website and look forward to the chance to share them through this one as well.

As a quick guide to these pages, I'll tell you that I've lived in Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Texas, and Louisiana. I have three true travelogues on VT, and they are on my United States, Texas, and New Mexico pages. The Texas travelogue is a long read at around 5,000 words, but I think it's pretty good. The New Mexico travelogue is a little shorter. The United States travelogue is much longer and covers a 55-day trip around the country. I do some kayaking, and my pages will feature more and more information about kayaking and canoeing. I've written about how I came to be interested in kayaking and a little about kayaking as a travelogue on my Louisiana page. Growing up in Tennessee, I never did many of the "tourist" things. I'm proud of that page, but it isn't that extensive. I think I've done a good job on my Oklahoma pages. I lived in Louisville in Kentucky, and my Kentucky and Indiana pages focus on that area. It's a nice area, and I think I've covered it pretty well. I'm seeing Louisiana for the first time and reporting as I see it. Those pages are among my best as well.
