Aloha!!

In 2000 I went on my own to Hawaii.

I was flying from Amsterdam to London, from London to Los Angeles and finally from Los Angeles to Kona/Kailua. Kona/Kailua is on the Big Island.

The first 2 days I was walking around to look in the shops.

I went on a trip to see dolphins and to snorkel. I had to be at Kailua Pier for my trip. When we were sailing away, we had breakfast. It was a really nice one. After breakfast we were spotting dolphins. We had seen a few. When we arrived at the place for snorkeling, we got our gear and jumped into the water. At 11 am there was a lunch aboard. After lunch you could jump of the boat. After a while we went back.

I also went with the trolley. You can jump on and off where you like. The ride is along the Kona Coast.

One other thing I did, was going with the submarine down. In the morning when I walked to the boat, I saw a mother and baby turtle swimming in the sea. From the Kailua Pier we went with a boat to the submarine. In the submarine we went for a ride for about 45 minutes. It was really interesting to see the underwater world.

Antoher thing you should do, is a trip around the Island. It was really a nice trip. Seen coffee-trees, national park Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, the Volcanoes National Park, Steam Bluffs & Crater Drive, Rainbow Waterfalls, Hamakua Coast and Macadamia Nut Factory.

One day the "Love Boat" was laying the whole day near the coast.

In the hotel everybody got a message from the hurricane Daniel. It would be a great excperience for me, but this hurricane didn't came over Hawaii.

The best thing to see are the telescopes at sunset. It was a great experience. You were standing above the clouds seeing the sun going down. Weird experience. The telescopes on the mountain are big and impressive.

One other great thing to do is parasailing. It was a great experience! Everybody should do this. It is so great to be in the air.

To all great holidays comes an end.....
