On 18 October 2002 I went to Prague. I went to the airport very early this day. Woke up at 4.45 am. Went by car at 5.35 am. Arrived at the airport around 7.00 am. At 9.05 am I went in the air. The flight took one hour and 5 minutes. I arrived at Prague Airport at 10.10 am. Had to wait a few minutes before meeting my former penpal. After meeting eachother, we took the bus. We went out of the bus at the nearest stop to her house. After this we had to walk for about 20 minutes. When we were at her house, we drank a bit. After this we ate a sandwich by a shop nearby her house. After this we went for a walk in the afternoon. During this walk we saw the Post Office. This is an impressive building!! And really nice once. We went also to the Old Town Square. This is a really nice square!!! So many great buildings around this square. At this square there is also the Astronimical Clock. IT IS SO GREAT TO SEE THE CLOCK!! A few meters further there is the home of Franz Kafka. He is a famous writer (used to live in this house between 1889 and 1896). The last thing we saw this day was part of the Charles Bridge (Karluv most). This is a bridge only for the walking people. It is a nice bridge with a lot of statues.
On 19 October 2002 we had a long walking day. First we went to the Wenceslas Square. It is a long square. After this we crossed the river. Went to a huge park. This is a great one because you can have a view over the city of Praha. Went to the Little Eiffeltower. We also went to the Prague Castle. One other thing I saw was the library of the monisters. This is a huge and impressive library!! There is also the Dancing House. This house looks like it is dancing.
On 20 October we went to have another long walking day. We went to see a church high up a hill. Than we walked along this wall which gave a nice view over the city as well. After this we also went to see the trainstation. We went to the Paris street. This is the most expensive street of Praha (Prague). We also went to the Jewesh part next to this street. There was a Arabic clock and a modern clock hanging on a building. We went to see the Estonian embassy. Also went to the riverside. The buildings in this area were really damaged during the fluds. They are rebuilding the houses, restaurants, cafes etc. (but in general you didn't see much left of the fluds).
On 21 October 2002 we had a short walk in the morning. Around 1.30 pm we were going to the bus which brought me to the airport. I used to be fliying at 5.10 pm, but I finally flew at 5.30 pm. Was in Amsterdam at 6.45 pm. And finally I was home at 8.30 pm.
I have to say that I really enjoyed Praha (Prague). It is a really nice city. Also in the autumn it is really nice to be in Praha (Prague)!!!! |
