After I left Vik I Myrdal I went first to the direction of Dyrholaey. The first part of the road was really good, but after that it was really bumpy ride. At a certain point I went back to the main road. I could make nice pics on the way. Once I was back at the main road, I went to the direction of Skogar. It went faster then I was expecting. Around noon I was at the hotel in Skogar. I asked in the hotel if I could check-in and I could. After I put the suitcase in the room, I went for lunch. During lunch it started to rain like hell. When I finished lunch, it stopped raining. So, I decided to go to the Skogafoss waterfall. It appeared to be a good decision: the sun started to shine!! Because of this I could make great pictures of the waterfall. At a certain point there was a rainbow as well. Once I had enough pictures, I went back to the car. I talked to a Swiss couple for a minute. They were there with their camper/motor home (took the ferry from Bergen, Norway, to Iceland). Once I was in the car I went driving around. Then I went back to Skogar. I went to see the Skogar folk museum. In this museum you will see the tools that were found and what was used in the households in the previouw years. Outside there were a few houses which you can enter. These houses were made just like in the previous years. After that I went to the Transport museum. Up here you will see stuff from the 'industrial' side of Iceland (for example from old to new telephones/cars/saddles etc). It was really fun to watch it. After this I went back to the hotel. |

This morning I stood up at 7.30am. After breakfast I left Skogar.

Beautiful pictures of Skógafoss. I last visited the museum when I was a little girl, I will visit it again this summer. |
