On 03 October at 4.30pm I arrived at the busstation of Sydney. I took a cab to the Harbour City Hotel. After being checked in, I went to the room. When I was settled down, I went out for a restaurant. I had my dinner by the Hardrock Cafe.
04 October 2001 This morning I stood up at 7.30am. After breakfast I was going for a walk to the Opera House. I walked along the Domain and Mrs Maquarie’s Chair. When I walked around the corner, I saw the Opera House. On the background the Harbour Bridge. What a view!!!!!! I took a couple of pictures. After that, I went to the Botanical Gardens. Which was great. Through the Gardens I went to the Opera House. What a great building! I walked around here the rest of the day. I also bought postcards to send home. Around 4.45am I was going to a restaurant to have dinner.
05 October 2001 I was awake at 7.45am and having breakfast. After breakfast I went out. I went to a travel agency. In Oxfort St there was one. I wanted to book a flight to Brisbane. There was only one flight available by Qantas. This flight was going at 8.05am. The flight takes 1,5 hours. I took this flight. When this was all arranged, I went to the Opera House to see more of the other side and surrounding. In the Domain I was having a break. After a while I went back to the hostel. I was writing the cards up there. I also looked for a hostel in Brisbane. I picked one out and went to the reception. They arranged the hostel for me and that I was to be picked up this Sundaymorning for going to the airport. When this was all arranged, I went out for dinner. |
| | 06 October 2001 This morning I stood up at 8am. After breakfast I went for a walk. First I went to Hyde Park. It wasn’t that much. So, I walked a part through Macquarie Street. I walked along Parliament House. I also passed the State Library of New South Wales. By a kiosk I was drinking tea and having a sandwich. After this I went through the Botanical Gardens to the Opera House. I walked around for a while. When I was done up here, I walked through the Botanical Gardens and the Domain. By the museum of art I sat on the stairs to wait for a while. I went further on to a supermarkt to buy bread and a drink for the next morning. After all of this, I went back to the hostel to relax. Around 4.30pm I was taking my cutlery to the reception and gave it to them. After this I went to a restaurant for dinner.
07 October 2001 I stood up at 5.15am. After being dressed up, I was eating my bread and had a drink. When I finished this, I went packing my bags. I was ready in a view minutes. So, I could go. I left the card for the door by the reception and went outside. I waited there for the shuttle. It came 10 minutes later than agreed. After putting the bags in the back of the shuttle, I went in. Around 7.15am I arrived at the airport. Walking in the airport, I was looking at the screens where to be. I had to be at counter E1 to 12. When I came to the counters there was a long, long row standing there. There was nothing left than to stand back in the line. When I was close to the counters, a women called who had to go with flight QF95. I said I was. So, I could go at once to the counter to check in. After being checked in, I was going through customs. At 7.35am I was at the gate. I had to wait a couple of minutes before they started to board. I was sitting in the back of the plane. Around 8.15am we were driving to the startlane. But halfway the captain said that one of the panels didn’t work and we had to go aside to let the technicians by the panel. It took about half an hour. After a delay of 50 minutes we were going in the air. YEAH!!! The flight took about an hour.

sue_stone Sun Jun 26, 2005 20:13 UTC You'll just have to get back to my hometown one day - it really is a special city : )) | aussiedoug Sat Jan 24, 2004 09:37 UTC Shame you didn't go into the Art Gallery, it's free entry (except for special exhibitions, but you can still see everything else). Shame you didn't see a bit more of Sydney, it has lots to offer. | phil_uk_net Sat May 24, 2003 15:30 UTC I'm pleased I'm not the only one that feels Sydney is overrated! | CandS Mon Apr 7, 2003 21:48 UTC Pity you didn't like Sydney much...maybe you didn't see much there... |
