WELCOME TO MY HOMEPAGE

by a5floor - last update: Jul 22, 2008

Kuramathi Island, Rashdoo Atol, Maldives
Hi,

A warm welcome to you. I hope you like reading my homepage and my travel pages. :)

Let me tell you something about myself.

I was born in Herrenberg, Germany. I did not live long in Germany: being 2 weeks old, I moved with my parents to Nieuwegein, the Netherlands.
After Nieuwegein we moved to Grave, the Netherlands. We lived here about 7 years.
Then we moved to Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. We are living in this city since october 1983. In Apeldoorn, we have moved once more.
I also lived in the UK. First time was 5 weeks in Brighton (see more about it on my Brighton page). The second time was 2 months in Greenock, Scotland (see more about it on my Glasgow and Greenock pages).

I have been to so many different countries on this planet. First I went with my parents on a holiday. Since the year 2000 I am travelling on my own. Which I like so far.
Many, many years I was camping in a tent. In the 90's my parents bought a caravan. Since 2000 I have stayed in hostels or hotels.
Camping is really fun to do. But a hotel is suitable as well.

Because I had the benefit of travelling with my parents every year in another country, I fell in love with travelling. That is why it is one of my favourite things I do in life.
Other things I like to do: photography, music, internet, writing to & meeting new people.
Postcards are one other thing I like to collect. Buy them myself or getting them by ordinairy mail. So, if you want to send a postcard to me, drop me a line and I will give you my address. :)

In January 2002 I was looking on the internet. And then my eyes saw one site called www.virtualtourist.com. I was curious about it and started to look on this site. After being on this site for a couple of minutes, I fell in LOVE with this site. Since then I am addicted to it. If you are on this site, you cannot go off. Sometimes it is a benefit, sometimes it isn't. But I really love it!! :))
After every holiday I am adding my pictures and tips at the certain pages. I also add some tips/pictures at other pages once in a while. And try to update these pages as much as possible.
I try to visit different countries every year. I don't like to go to the same place every year. When I am on my holidays, I like to write a journal.

So, this is a story about me. I hope everybody has as much pleasure in travelling as I do. Keep on going!

Janka

IF YOU WANT TO USE ONE OF MY PICTURES, PLEASE ASK FIRST. THANKS!!

PS: 20 July 2008: I just got back from my trip to the Maldives. Hope to add my tips and photos soon. :) So, come back later to have a look at them.
