Looking for an interesting idea for sightseeing after all this clubbing and smoking and drinking? Well you definately have heard of Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam. Anne's history is the most known of the Second World War and has movedand touched many generations till nowadays. In this house she used to hide from the Germans as she was a jewish teenager and wrote her very famous diary. Trully bad that the house has been renovated in a very non-attractive way. And something must be done about these queues outside the Amsterdam museums and hotspots...

While passing the Amsterdam's central canals you'll see in one of those (singel this is) a big bazaar offering to the willing buyes many interesting stuff and most of all flowers(unfortunately it wasnt a tulip spring period when i visited holland) and everything that has to do with gardening. An interesting spot to walk along and buy souvenirs (i actually bought a nice amsterdam shirt :-P)

Travel agencies may offer as well as a visit to the city of Amsterdam, a visit to beautiful fisherman villages outside the city. I took the chance and visited 2 magnificent places Marken and Volendam. Marken is a very peaceful and quiet place which believe me is not the appropriate for us shouting greeks :-). It used to be an island but clever dutch people connected it to the continental holland. You have to pay a fee of 1 euro to enter this "nothing to do" village..Volendam is way more beautiful and has a magnificent harbor. You can enjoy the famous fried Volendam's fish (tastes really great!!)

Besides the bad experience that i got with the ticket having a boat ride through amsterdam canals is a very beautiful (and much touristic) experience. The tour is guided by a recorded voice which speaks 3 or more languages. The seats are really comfy (although the view from there is limited). The worst thing in the tour is the crowd..Probably there are not enough boats to make the tour and people are oblidged to standin the middle.Sometimes the boats are way too crowded and i dont know if this is the safest situation for the tourists..

The torture museum of amsterdam its a small place located on singel canal on the opposite side of the flower market. The entrance fee is only 2 euros and inside you can experience (very lively indeed) how "bad" people were tortured during medievil times. Just like many other european cities amsterdam has its own torture place. by the way, while being in this place i thought that the only thing that was really tortured was actually me!!!

Things To Do: Windmills

Windmills are a traditional image on a dutch scenery and along with the tulips consist the very known dutch countryside. By the time i went in Amsterdam there were no tulips but the windmills were standing there calling me for some great dutchy pictures. There are some very beautiful restored mills at the very suburbs of the city that you should better not miss to visit. It reminded me an old fairy tale. In this one it is said that rebrant the great artist used to paint and nowadays is someone's house (!) - i could never live in a place in front of which many groups of tourists would pass and have their photos....-.

Leidseplein: The Most Colorful Square Of Amsterdam

Leidseplein is a big and crowded square in Amsterdam's centre. I offers many activities such as smoking in a coffeshop ("bulldog" one of the biggest in the city is found there), eatin in a good or junk restaurant, enjoying your coffe. It is always crowded and its the best place to start your walk in Amsterdam. Everyday there is a different street show presented in Leidseplein, you shouldnt miss that one.
