Lunenburg celibrated its 250 year existance in 2003. The town is a UNESCO world heritage site. Lunenburg is located at the Lahave River and has a strong German influence, because after the town was founded by Mi'kmaq natives and Acadians a second wave of foreign protestant settlers came over from Germany, Switserland and the French Montbeliard region.

    Lunenburg will be a must see for me, esp as you say the "pitoresque" town and the "woodem houses".hehe!

      Lunenburg and Peggy's cove are tourists "must sees".
      And do stop at the Flight 111 monument. PJ

    Nice pics... but only little information! I didn't enjoy Lunenburg that much because I had a terrible headache that day.

    Quite a significant town. The Academy is certainly an impressive building. I love the harbour and the boat tour sounds great.
