FOR YOUR SAFETY:

Back country trails are rugged and built to wilderness standards with no amenities.

Know your limits and hike with others.

Ensure that you are properly equipped and self-sufficient. Carry a compass and map.

Complete a trip plan to leave with family or friends.

Campfires and camping are nor permitted on the trails.

Always carry lots of water. Note: water found on the trail maybe unsafe to drink.

Watch your step - rocks may be slippery.

Do not collect or disturb plants, rocks or wildlife.

Stay on established trails.

Back country trails intersect with excisting portage trails. Tale care not to become confused. Watch for signage.

Wear hunter orange in hunting season. Dates posted at the trailhead.

Report problems with trail condition or incidents to the MTA. Get current contact information at the trailhead.

Equipment: Boots, water and food (and a plastic bag for your waste).

Directions: Start at the Musquodoboit Harbour Railway Museum and follow the old railway tracks.
